God's Call for Intimacy
God loves you with an intimacy that surpasses all your dreams. He wants you to have a close, personal relationship with him of intimacy. The essence of an intimate relationship, especially with God, The more you desire a relationship with God, the more personal that letter. We look for intimacy with God in all the wrong places. This is as true in our relationship with God as it is in our relationships with other human.
What God began in the past, He will accomplish and complete in the future.
God considers us children of a Heavenly Father 2 Corinthians 6: When redeemed, we are again sealed into a special relationship with God. While sin can enslave us to the point of fear, believers in Jesus are adopted, receiving the same privileges as natural-born.
Christians can approach God through an intimate relationship, even calling Him Father Romans 8: God values us as precious treasures, capable of honoring Him with our bodies and spirits. Jesus was the only begotten Son of the Father. The relationship the two shared while Jesus was on earth was unparalleled John 1: But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ Our earthly relationships change. You and I are destined for change. But Jesus is changeless. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. When you draw near to Jesus Christ, you will be changed. So they hid from the Lord God among the trees. This shows that God desires a relationship with us. God was seeking out Adam and Eve to sit down and spend time with them. It was their fear that caused them to hide. Because they were naked.
It would have been intimate! There would have been nothing hidden! God started with man, fellowshipping and communicating with man in total transparency. It was man who started covering up, started creating distance between himself and God. And we know this was caused by what? And so God had to speak in harder and harsher ways over the years as man slowly backed away from intimacy with God. And the worship of God became more and more formal and more and more structured until it was to such a level of relationship that it resembled more of a prisoner being sentenced by a judge then it did being in a love relationship with God.
But this was not the heart of God! God started with and has always cried out for man to come close to Him, but sin still stood in the way. Until the day when everything changed.
He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. He came to walk right beside us. He came and lived right with us! He slept with us, laughed with us, and even showered with us! Whatever the case may be. You get my drift. Those are things that are transparent and intimate. He walked in our midst and became the living example of not only how God desires to be in a relationship with us, but how to have a relationship with God.
