Then came the ending. April 26, at The writing it some of the most beautiful I’ve ever read reminds me, strangely enough, of A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. The Lands wait to hear about Davy’s escape, first on horse, then hitchhiking his way to August’s before borrowing a car and leaving for some ,eif destination.

Aa don’t usually reread books and I probably wouldn’t have reread this one except for the fact that it came to me in my Postal Mailbox Book Club.
