Almost everything I though was the “obvious” way that threads would resolve was darkwithc into someth I read this entire third book of The Troy Game series thinking that the series was a trilogy, and that this would conclude the story. Yep, Asterion is definitely misunderstood. Reading the first two books in the series starting with Hades’ Daughter is a must, as the story, spanning over 1, years, is quite complicated.

I wouldn’t rec it, not really sure I’m even going to finish the series at this point.

The dagkwitch of London is used really well, making me want to explore it. A good identity twist gives us a nice shock, though certainly not the biggest shock of this book.

The central character of Cornelia, for instance, has experienced two lifetimes prior to Darkwitch Rising. But when the surprise is so unexpected that you find it out of nowhere, it suddenly looks rather like a flaw than a quality. As the final installment of the series is not too far away, the transformations in Rieing are among its most surprising. It caused me great anguish to do anything in life other than read to find out what came next. Amping up the action and ensuring I stuck around.

Imagine, though, if we could experience our lives several times; if we could pinpoint exact reasons for our bad choices in order to better understand them and perhaps make positive amends with better, more solid decisions the second time or third go round.

But rislng the end they were thwarted by Brutus’s wife Cornelia, who understood the danger to the land. The stakes rise further when the Game sows plague in England, against which Charles has to unleash the Great Fire of London.
