The Council of Thieves adventure path has problems as a whole, and these are not helped by The Bastards of Erebus. If a GM ran this adventure like a crunchy dungeon-hack then the entire module could possibly be completed in a couple sessions, but those who prefer a balance of roleplaying, combat, and weaving plots will find some excellent surprises here as combats are not always straight forward and players are sometimes offered the opportunity to choose the field of battle and define their own tactics.
